  • ITE Journal is a monthly magazine specializing in the transportation field and its challenges, written by and for transportation engineers, planners and others responsible for safe and efficient movement of people and goods on our surface transportation systems.
  • Journal of Transportation of the Institute of Transportation Engineers adheres to the highest levels of peer review and publishes basic and applied transportation research findings aimed at advancing transportation knowledge and practices for the benefit of society. The Journal contains peer-reviewed articles based on thoroughly researched projects that have been conducted by preeminent transportation researchers.
  • The ITE e-newsletter is an executive summary of noteworthy articles pertaining to transportation professionals distributed every month to ITE members. ITE’s editorial staff monitors newspapers, business publications, Web sites, national and international wire services and other periodicals and summarizes significant articles into an easy-to-read format.
  • The ITE Bookstore is your transportation research destination. It provides numerous titles with in-depth information on transportation specifics enhancing your transportation knowledge and application base.

Leadership Opportunities

  • Volunteer with ITE to develop your leadership skills, build professional credibility and make an impact on the industry. Opportunities include writing an article for ITE Journal, reviewing manuscripts, writing an issue paper, speaking or presiding at a meeting and much more.
  • Local involvement in ITE Districts, Sections and Chapters puts you on the path to becoming a leader. You may serve on committees, attend or develop meetings or events, participate in the leadership, write or edit the newsletter, or help with technical papers or reports. Student Chapters offer mentoring opportunities for non-students and established professionals.
  • Student leaders are encouraged to participate in their Student Chapter. This is a great way for students to get involved with ITE and the industry.

Professional Development

  • LeadershipITE provides an opportunity to develop and engage the leaders of our industry. The program is open to any active ITE student or member, with about 30 members selected each year to participate. The multi-day workshops will facilitate team-building and leadership development, networking with international transportation leaders, and opportunities to work on projects addressing real-world issues.   • ITE Professional Development Training furnishes a database-driven resource for locating transportation educational information to meet and maintain your professional competency, as well as state/provincial registration board requirements for P.E./P.Eng licensure and certifications like: Professional Traffic Operations Engineer™ (PTOE), Professional Transportation Planner™ (PTP) and Traffic Signal Operations Specialist (TSOS). Offerings include Web seminars, online learning, courses on CD-Rom and classroom sessions.
  • The ITE Technical Conference and Exhibit and Annual Meeting and Exhibit present lively exchanges of information between experts in the transportation field, generating better solutions and efficiencies in the industry and application in the transportation environment.
